Electronic PVDF Film Stethoscope NEW!

Sensitive and robust, this active stethoscope features a small metal and rubber button head with a preamped PVDF film sensor inside. Five feet of shielded cable run from the head to the power module which terminates in a mono 1/4" female output. The unit runs on a single 9 volt battery (included) and is designed to switch off when the output is unplugged.

Extremely low-noise and wide bandwidth (8 - 2 200Hz) make it ideal for recording body sounds such as the heart, blood and lungs. Can also used as a bone conducted pickup or a regular contact microphone or vibration sensor. For most applications you will require the use of a hi-fi or guitar amplifier. Attach sensor with medical tape or stretchy gauze.

Small PVDF Piezo Film Tabs

These 1 inch by 1/2 inch flexible fluoropolymer film tabs have two metal pins for soldering to connections of your choice. These film tabs usually need to be shielded to reduce hum. They have a vast frequency response range in excess of 0.001 HZ to over 1 billion HZ.

Self-Adhesive Copper Shielding Tape - 60mm Wide

60mm wide and sold by the foot, this is the tape used to shield piezos, a must for film tab microphones, guitar and bass pickup cavities, electronics, etc. Easy to solder to, with one side coated with a strong conductive adhesive. It's sharp, so use caution when handling.

Copper tape will be be packaged by folding into sections to fit into envelopes, so expect a few neat creases which can be smoothed out later with a fingernail.
